Valerie is a native of Virginia who now lives in Irvine, CA.  She is currently on radical sabbatical from a 25-year marketing career to pursue her passion in acting.  She has appeared in three episodes of a Discovery Kids educational program called Hip Hop Harry that premiered in September 2006.  The show has since received a 2007 Emmy Nomination and was awarded the 2007 Parent’s Choice Award.  She is also the voice of Cat in another children’s series called The Wheels on the Bus. 

Not leaving marketing totally behind, Valerie teaches undergraduate and graduate level marketing at the Paul Merage Scool of Business at the University of California, Irvine and is consulting with the marketing research and strategy firm, Connell & Associates. 

Valerie earned an MBA from The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where she studied as a CAPP Fellow and graduated with high honors. Her BA is in Speech Communication from George Mason University.

Valerie has judged several pageants at the state and national level, including the 2007 Mrs. American Pageant, the 2006 National American Queen Pageant and the 2001 Mrs. America Pageant.  She holds the 2004-2005 Ms. Georgia American Queen, and the 2004-2005 Ms. American Queen Titles.  Valerie loves sports, travel, reading mystery novels and doing agility training with her 10 year-old mixed breed dog, Maggie Mae.
