Competing in her first pageant at the age of 12, Sunjia became intrigued with the pageant industry.  After highly successful placements in other pageant systems, Sunjia won the Title of Mrs. Georgia American Queen 2005, and then went on to win the national Title of Mrs. American Queen 2005.

For five years Sunjia served as President of Dr. Dee’s Fashion and Wedding Photography, where she taught make-up, print and runway modeling. Sunjia is a professional model at the Atlanta Apparel Mart in Pepper’s Collections. She has appeared in several movies such as ATL and The Gospel, several T.V. Shows, newspapers, and magazines.  Mrs. Burks also owns  “Parade Of The Gowns” - a full-service pageant/prom boutique.
